Notice of Intent to Request Property from Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO) Program

SUBJECT: Notification to Civilian Governing Body and Local Community
Notice is given that on May 25, 2022, Presidential Executive Order (EO) 14074 “Advancing Effective, Accountable Policing and Criminal Justice Practices to Enhance Public Trust and Public Safety” was signed.
In accordance with EO 14074 (Section 12), State, Tribal, local, and Territorial Law Enforcement agencies (LEAs) must:
Notify their Civilian Governing Body (CGB) (i.e., City Council, County Government or other local governing body) of its intent to request property from Federal sources (to include Federal funds or grants).
Notify the Local Community of its request for property transfers, purchases from Federal funds, agencies or subcontractors (including existing transfer contracts or grants).
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office may request the below controlled property items from the Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO), or other Federal source:
Controlled Property Description
Aviation Parts, fuel and related equipment, (MRAP) Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected: an armored military
vehicle designed to withstand the effects of an explosion or armed ambush for armored personnel protection from gunfire, during tactical operations, open air and other tactical applications, and night vision goggles for helicopter and SWAT tactical lowlight and night operations.
Pursuant to EO 14074 (Section 12), this memo fulfills the requirement to notify the Civilian Governing Body (CGB) and Local Community of my agency’s intent to request the controlled property items identified in the list above.

Se notifica que el25 de mayo de 2022, se firmó la Orden Ejecutiva Presidencial (EO) 14074 "Promoción de prácticas policiales y de justicia penal efectivas y responsables para mejorar la confianza pública y la seguridad pública".
De acuerdo con EO 14074 (Sección 12), las agencias estatales, tribales, locales y territoriales de aplicación de la ley (LEA) deben:
- Notificar a su Cuerpo de Gobierno Civil (CGB) (es decir, el Concejo Municipal, el Gobierno del Condado u otro órgano de gobierno local) de su intención de solicitar propiedad de fuentes federales (para incluir fondos o subvenciones federales).
- Notificar a la Comunidad Local de su solicitud de transferencias de propiedad, compras de fondos federales, agencias o subcontratistas (incluidos los contratos de transferencia o subvenciones existentes).
